I am used to working with people representing a range of diversity and mental health problems. My experience for over a decade was primarily as a university counsellor working with young people and members of staff. However I have also worked for GP practices and for charities.

I am an accredited practitioner of Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) which is particularly relevant if you find that you recognise patterns in your relationships which leave you feeling dissatisfied, unhappy or trapped in an ever-repeating cycle that ends in separation. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), a therapy particularly helpful in resolving past trauma and its impact on how we see ourselves and on our resilience to cope with life’s stresses. My fundamental training is in the person-centred approach, which helps me to see the individual rather than the problem they are experiencing and help them to realize their potential for a more fulfilling life.

What clients have said about working with me

"Omar's personable style makes each session comfortable and rewarding. His empathy and insights have steered me through turbulent times and the lessons i have learnt have proven to be invaluable"

—L.B., London

“Omar dealt with a problem I had been experiencing in the most compassionate way. In our non judgemental, challenging and deeply caring sessions I felt safe to be totally honest with him and, more importantly, myself. I left with a deeper understanding of my issues and some tools to help deal with them. In my experience, Omar is an exceptional therapist. I will always be grateful to him for the journey of discovery we shared together.”

_ AT, Cheltenham

“I found my sessions with Omar provided me with the psychological, emotional, relational and spiritual depth I was looking for. This meant that in a very (surprisingly!) short amount of time (Only 4 sessions!!) I was able to release some old patterns from my brain/nervous system so that I could make some fresh here-now choices from a centred "adult" place...”

— E.B.

“"Omar has taught me how to cope with daily anxiety and stress; something I couldn’t achieve with any other therapist. He is a real professional and knows how to help. I would always recommend him to my family and friends.”

—I.N., London

“I was diagnosed by my GP with PTSD following COVID. A friend recommended EMDR therapy and so I contacted Omar who I found very easy to talk to - kind, gentle and non-judgmental. He worked with me in weekly sessions to understand the foots of my trauma and gave me tools and the confidence to make changes.

The EMDR worked incredibly well and I was surprised and delighted with how quickly it worked. It was a very positive experience and I would absolutely recommend Omar and EMDR to anyone suffering trauma or anxiety.”
